Terms of services:

Norges Idrettsforbund (NIF) Terms of Service (the "API Terms") describes your rights and responsibilities when accessing our available application programming interfaces (the "APIs") and related API documentation. Please read them carefully. These Terms shall apply to any use of NIF APIs. As used in these Terms, “APIs” means programmatic web APIs, software and other functionality and their associated tools and documentation that NIF makes available to you. These API Terms form a binding contract between you and NIF. The Contract does not grant you rights to use any other of our tools/platform/interfaces. Subject to the restrictions below, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable limited license to access our APIs and documentation only as necessary to develop, test and support an integration of your applications with the Services. You may charge for your application; however, you may not sell, rent, lease, sublicense, redistribute, or syndicate access to any of NIF APIs. The information is provided through APIs by NIF and its subsidiaries. NIF do not warrant the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of the content contained in the API. NIF are not to be held liable for, the APIs being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control. Any reliance you place on information through APIs is therefore strictly at your own risk. In no event will NIF be liable for any loss or damage including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of the APIs. Through the APIs, you might be able to link to information delivered by third parties which are not under the control of NIF. NIF take no responsibility, and have no control over the nature, content, and availability of this information.

SLA

There is no service guarantee using the APIs if not anything else is stated in any other agreements. However, NIF will try to assist you after a best effort practice. All service requests must be directed to NIFs support for further processing.

Other agreements needed

Some of NIFs services that handles person and personalization-based data must have additional agreements. NIF will provide you with these agreements.

Restrictions for usage:

Your network and the operating system and software of your servers, databases, and computer systems must be properly configured to securely operate your application and store data. Data must be stored and served using strong encryption. In addition, Applications and developers are prohibited from:

  • Degrading or compromising security in any way providing access to NIF in any fraudulent or unauthorized way including bypassing or circumventing NIFs protocols and access controls using unpublished APIs using information gained from any API or data sources.

  • Do not in any way mislead and/or use deceptive statements about Application functionality, performance, origin, or data usage.

  • Transmitting any viruses or other code that may damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, or expropriate any system or data access our APIs or documentation in violation of any law or regulation.

  • Access our APIs in any manner that:

    • Compromises, breaks, or circumvents any of our technical processes or security measures associated with the Services,

    •   Poses a security vulnerability to customers or users of the services or tests the vulnerability of our systems or networks.

  • Access our APIs or documentation to replicate or compete with the Services

  • Attempt to reverse engineer or otherwise derive source code, trade secrets, or know how of our APIs or Services or attempt to use our APIs in a manner that exceeds rate limits, or constitutes excessive or abusive usage.

  • Data may not be used for any other purposes than given in the application for accessing the services

Any violations of this restrictions may cause immediately termination of your Contract.

Termination

Termination of any usages of the Services must be given in written at least three months in advance by the canceling part. After the termination of the Contract, all rights and licenses granted to you will terminate immediately. You understand that any APIs or documentation that are not made generally available but that are otherwise made available to you are confidential information. Upon termination of the Contract, you will promptly destroy copies of any documentation and any NIF information in your possession or control that was received under the Contract.

User declaration

Please carefully read the following statements and conditions of use of the data: This document is read in full, understood and you accept all the above notes and warnings concerning the source, reliability and use of the data available under the API terms. Any breach of contract may inflict responsibility to the user to cover any damage suffered by NIF caused by the breach of contract.
